Queen Elizabeth II has been the monarch for 65 years, and in that time has attended thousands of royal engagements. The Queen always looks perfectly polished while carrying out any visits of state. Whether it is her perfect hair, makeup or ensemble, nothing is ever out of place.
However, this look does not come easily for Prince Charles’ mother, a woman who goes to extreme lengths for her fashion everyday.
In 2018 documentary “Meghan Markle’s New Life: The Real Princess Diaries”, fashion expert André Leon Talley reveals that many elements which are considered before Prince William and Prince Harry’s grandmother leaves the house.
Speaking of these aspects, the former Vogue editor-at-large André Leon Talley said: “Queen Elizabeth has her own personal designers, clothes are selected, clothes are vetted, colours are studied.”
He added: “Queen Elizabeth must wear bright colours so she can be seen from afar.”
It has not gone unnoticed how often the Queen wears bright shades of orange, pink or purple when carrying out royal engagements, and the idea is all down to being noticed.
The Queen also sticks to classic looks and her favourite designers, who have dressed Her Majesty for years.
For example, the Queen is a lover of Angela Kelly designs, and even wore one of her yellow dress coats to Kate Middleton and Prince William’s wedding in 2011.
Queen Elizabeth II also sticks to items she loves and finds comfort in, for example, her handmade Anello & Davide of Kensington black shoes she’s been wearing for decades now.
The Queen may have updated the colour of the leather heel as trends changed, but she has always remained loyal to the West London designer’s statement piece, which reportedly cost £1,000 each.
